What is a growth grant?
A growth grant is a sum of money that is awarded as a one-off to SMEs enabling them to grow their business. Grants do not have to be paid back so can be helpful for small business owners as they can retain control of their business and use the funding to support any areas that need it.
Buckinghamshire Business First
Buckinghamshire Business First is a business-focused community for all new, established, and growing SMEs across Buckinghamshire. They help, advise and offer many opportunities to support local businesses and create a thriving business community.
Buckinghamshire Business First are offering growth grants to any Buckinghamshire based SMEs to help them with business growth. They are providing grants from £1000 (excl. VAT) to £5000 (excl. VAT) depending on your costs, giving SMEs the help that they need. The minimum project costs for a £1000 grant are £3000 (excl. VAT) and to receive the grant of £5000 the project costs need to be up to £15,000 (excl. VAT).
What can you use a growth grant for?
Growth grants are mainly used for:
- Premises improvements
- Premises expansion
- New products/services
- Marketing and promotional activities (SEO, social media marketing, market research, rebranding)
- Recruitment
- Software development

These growth grants are a part of the Growth Programme and to check if your business is eligible, you can visit the bbf.uk.com website and read the eligibility guidance.
